Our Vision

Fueled by a $30 million campaign—supported by state, federal, and community donors—The Trails is located in Liberty, MO, a rapidly growing and sought-after community. Within two miles, residents have access to essential amenities, including health clubs, grocery stores, the Liberty Community Center, restaurants, cafes, churches, and urgent care services.
This location offers both convenience and opportunity, ensuring residents can live independently while staying connected to a thriving and inclusive community.
- New Community Development: Establishing an inclusive neighborhood on our existing Liberty, Mo. property that offers affordable, accessible housing options.
- Diverse Housing Options: Providing single and four-bedroom homes featuring state-of-the-art smart home technology and sustainable design elements for energy efficiency.
- Promoting Independence: Ensuring individuals of all abilities and ages have access to affordable housing in a supportive and technologically advanced environment, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.
- Beyond Housing: Introducing innovative programs and therapies tailored to individuals with disabilities, along with a comprehensive support system that combats housing discrimination and promotes independence.
- Financial Sustainability: Partnering with government agencies, philanthropic organizations, and private donors to underwrite initial housing costs and reduce ongoing expenses, ensuring the project’s long-term success.
The Impact
- Better Housing Options: The Trails will feature 39 homes in total, with 30 dedicated to individuals we serve, providing accessible, affordable housing for up to 120 people. The remaining homes will welcome community members in need of accessible housing and wraparound services, creating a truly inclusive neighborhood. Designed to offer autonomy and choice, this project redefines what home means—fostering a connected, supportive community that extends beyond bricks and mortar.
- Improved Quality of Life: Dedicated to enhancing lives, we will create a tech-forward, inclusive community for individuals with disabilities. Nathan, one of the individuals we serve, captures the significance of our work perfectly: “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else (than with Life Unlimited)!” His words underscore the profound impact of our efforts and the importance of our project.
- New Program Offerings: In addition to housing, we are expanding our services through innovative programs. These include an enhanced day habilitation program, new vocational opportunities, and a range of wraparound and supportive services. These initiatives are designed to provide comprehensive support and create a robust, integrated system for all who join our community.
